The Town Of Homestead In Iowa Is The Star Of A Hallmark Channel Christmas Movie
Did you know that there is a Hallmark movie about Christmas in Iowa? Read all about the film, Christmas in Homestead, below. Then, make plans to watch it and you’ll have a newfound appreciation for an authentic Christmas here in the Hawkeye State.
For decades, people have said that Iowa's Amana Colonies look like they are straight out of a Hallmark movie. Now, thanks to Hollywood, that's absolutely true!
Back in 2016, Crown Media Productions decided that a Hallmark movie about small town Iowa was a great way to show off how much we love the season. Christmas in Homestead was the result!
Homestead is one of the Amana Colonies, and even before the movie was filmed, it had ties to Hollywood. Ashton Kutcher was born just outside of city limits and considers Homestead his home town.
All season long, people visit the Amana Colonies to enjoy old fashioned winter fun, but it is a truly special place to be during Christmas.
In the movie, an actress heads to Homestead to film a show. There, she meets the town mayor and falls in love. It's undeniably cheesy, but that's what makes it so entertaining.
Curl up on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa and watch Christmas in Homestead this holiday season, and then make plans to come see the charming colonies under a blanket of snow.
We're so proud of our home state and thankful that Hallmark chose to feature one of our most charming and tiniest towns on the silver screen.
