You’ll be glad to know that the Farmer’s Almanac winter predictions for Indiana call for less freezing temperatures and snow than the year prior. This summer has already been one for the books, and the warm temps are likely to just keep coming.

First of all, let's start with what you can expect for the rest of August. These final days will be hot like the rest of the summer has been, but it will start to cool off as we transition into early September.
Though temps will drop off, and it will feel a bit like autumn in the first half of September, the second half brings a surge of storms and hot temps as summer has its final say. Transitions are never smooth in this state.
Don't expect things to start cooling down right away, though. The Farmer's Almanac predicts that our region of the country will experience a wet and warm winter. In fact, most of the nation is expected to experience warmer temperatures than usual.
This phenomenon is due to a weather pattern called El Nino Southern Oscillation. Though it is related to a patch of warm water in the Pacific Ocean, the effects are far reaching and cause disruptions in typical weather patterns.
So, instead of fluffy drifts of snow, we'll be seeing a lot more of this in the Hoosier State. According to these winter predictions, we'll be seeing plenty of rain too.
