Whispers Estate was built in or around 1894, and between 1899 and 1901, Dr. George and Sarah White moved in.
George was a successful physician and ran his practice from their home. The pair adopted orphaned children and, unfortunately, several died in the house over the years.
Some of the children they took in were troubled; at one point, a 10-year-old girl started a fire in the house, dying two days later of severe burn injuries.
A 10-month-old baby died in the master bedroom, and then adopted daughter Jessie White died of double pneumonia in the same room. It is not known if, or how many, patients of Dr. White's may have died in the house, but given that he practiced there for more than 25 years, it's not exactly an out-there concept.
Supposedly, while the house was undergoing renovations in the early 2000s, bizarre activity began.
Lights would flicker on and off. Footsteps would be heard stomping about on the second story. Over time, the activity escalated - quickly.
To this day, people reserve time to come and experience this bizarre, creepy place for themselves, and the photos they end up with are... startling, to say the least.
Guests are encouraged to write down everything they experience on lined paper, where the accounts are posted to Whispers Estate's official Facebook page - and boy, are some of them creepy.
It's not uncommon at all for guests (and the owners) to be scratched up by unseen fingernails, or touched by an unseen hand.
It's mentioned in several shining reviews that even non-believers of the paranormal should come check it out one of these nights - if they dare.
