I don’t know about you, but I love Mexican food. And, no, I’m not talking about Taco Bell. I’m talking about real Mexican food. I was a little surprised at how difficult it was to find a list of Mexican restaurants in Indiana that were not chains across the United States. It would seem we have a lot of Mexican restaurants that are big chains or closed down. However, I did come up with a list of some pretty tasty options! You’ll be happy to know there are choices in the northern and southern part of the state as well as the center.
Adobo Grill is located in downtown Indianapolis on 110 E Washington Street. The place is kind of expensive, and it probably isn’t a place I would have gone out of my way to try. But, I had a group project when I was going to IUPUI and this is where they wanted to have dinner while discussing the project. I have to say, the food was incredible. If you like guacamole – you have to order some when you visit!
4214 Charlestown Rd # 4 is the address of this Mexican restaurant which is located in New Albany. Many customers agree it's one of the best places to get Mexican cuisine in the state.
There are nine different Pepe’s Mexican Restaurants in the northwestern portion of the state. This includes Frankfort, Griffith, Hammond, Lafayette, Merrillville, Schererville, South Haven, and Valparaiso. They, like many other Mexican restaurants in Indiana, are known for their tasty signature guacamole.

El Arriero Mexican Bar & Grill can be found in South Bend at 4505 Ameritech Drive. The customer service at this restaurant is spectacular. Everything you get is made fresh to order and tastes fantastic. They even bring chips and salsa to the table while you're waiting.
This Mexican restaurant is located at 1440 Veterans Parkway in Clarksville. Customers agree the homemade chips and salsa are a must have if you come here for lunch or dinner. They also serve a lot of great drinks. You can rest easy knowing you can come in hungry and won’t have to wait long for your meal.
