The Hidden Floating Cabin In Illinois Is A Riverfront Getaway With The Utmost Charm
Plenty of bodies of water can be found throughout the Land of Lincoln, so finding accommodations on the water is actually quite an easy task. From the shores of Lake Michigan to the nearly 3,000 lakes, 84,000 ponds, and 880 miles of rivers along its borders, Illinois has plenty of waterfront real estate. If you’re in need of a waterfront stay, head to East Dubuque along the Mississippi River where you can book a charming getaway in Illinois.
Set not just along the Mississippi River but on the river is a floating cabin that's unlike anywhere you've stayed before. At the Millennium Marina in East Dubuque is a custom cabin that exudes charm and relaxation in every way.
To get to the floating cabin, just walk along a dock that is connected to the marina and its restaurant where you can dine at if you don't feel like cooking.
If you do feel like cooking, the cabin's custom kitchen is an ideal place to practice being a chef. With everything you need, including a stove, oven, toaster, and coffee maker, you should be all set to make three meals a day.
But if grilling is more your jam, and you would like to maximize your time outside with river views, use the outdoor grill. And then you and your guests can sit and dine out at the bar.
Back inside the cabin, you can relax in the living room which comes with its own coffee corner as well as a trundle couch that can turn into two single beds.
Aside from the trundle beds in the common living space, there are three bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a smart TV. There's plenty of space to accommodate up to eight guests.
Head to the rooftop and there you will find a hot tub that overlooks the Mississippi River. There is plenty of seating to relax and hang out up there as well.
And if you want to have some fun and get out on the water, you can rent a kayak from the marina's restaurant. Registered guests of the cabin get one hour of kayaking for free!
