Pizza is a favorite food for many people, but finding the best pizza in Midwest can be quite a challenge. With the sheer number of pizzerias in the region, it could take a lifetime to try them all. We think that we have found the best pizza in the Midwest and it’s hiding out at an unassuming pizzeria in Illinois.
Located on W. 63rd Street in Chicago, Stunod's Pizzeria was established by brothers Austin and Frank Battaglia who have quite a passion for pizza. They've even flown to Italy just to learn how pizza is made there.
The brothers had started out with Buddy's Italian Ice before venturing into owning a pizza joint. So, a visit to Stunod's is the best of both worlds as you can order both pizza and Italian ice made with fresh, all-natural ingredients.
Using high-quality ingredients, Stunod's hand-rolled, Chicago-style pizza is hard to beat. Pizza can be ordered in four different sizes: small, medium, large, and giant. Build your own or order a specialty pie.
If you enjoy a spicy pizza, try the "Fire" made with pepperoni, red pepper, and hot giardiniera. For the vegetarians out there, order the "Christine Style" with onion, pepper, mushroom, and sliced tomato. Who wants a slice?
While the pizza is top-notch, if that's not what you're in the mood for, you can find a variety of pasta, hot and cold sandwiches, wings, and salads on the menu as well.
While you're here, don't forget to grab some Buddy's Italian Ice for dessert. Order the house-made, all-natural strawberry or all-natural lemon, or both! It's the perfect dessert to have after pizza.
