Taking place June 19-21, 2020, the Great Galena Balloon Race is one of the most popular hot air balloon festivals in the state.
It always happens the third full weekend in June and features live music, a balloon glow, art, and food vendors in addition to the best hot air balloon show in the state and possibly the country.
The event takes place in Galena's gorgeous countryside. The views that accompany this race are second to none, and it is definitely worth bringing your camera.
In addition to the balloon glow on Friday and Saturday nights, Saturday night will also include a car show beginning at 6 p.m. and showcasing antique vehicles.
