Winchester Lake State Park Is Home To A Yurt Village In Idaho Where You Can Spend The Night

Winchester Lake State Park is one of the most underrated state parks in Idaho. Located in northern Idaho, this state park sits right at the base of the Craig Mountains and features a beautiful 104-acre lake that is perfect for fishing and spending some time outdoors. And while Winchester Lake State Park has plenty to offer, one of its highlights is its charming yurt village.

There are four yurts at this Idaho park. Three of the yurts — Lodgepole, Snowberry, and Ponderosa — are premium yurts that comfortably sleep up to five individuals. They each include wall heat, lights, and electricity.

The fourth yurt — Tamarack Yurt — is considered a deluxe yurt and also includes a microwave, pair of Adirondack chairs, and a pair of bicycles.
All of the yurts feature a bunk bed with a full-size mattress and a futon that folds out to a bed. There are also picnic tables, a fire ring, and a gas propane BBQ.

Plus, to help you more easily spend a little time out on the water, all yurts include a single canoe, life jackets, and paddles. If visiting during the winter, snowshoes are provided.

You can even bring your favorite furry friend along with you as all of the yurts, except for the Lodgepole Yurt, are pet friendly. The yurts are also near the lake for easy access.
