Idaho isn’t known for fresh seafood and that’s okay. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t dive into some fresh seafood here in the Gem State. In fact, at Freshie’s Lobster Co., in Boise, you can devour fresh lobster in every single lobster dish you order. From its famous lobster rolls to lobster mac and cheese, everything on the menu is certainly mouthwatering. Freshie’s is delicious, the portion sizes are large, and there is hardly anything like it in Idaho — it’s a one-of-a-kind seafood restaurant in Idaho that we can’t get enough of.
Freshie’s is one of the newest seafood restaurants in Idaho and it’s certainly making a name for itself. The seafood here is so fresh, you’ll feel like you are dining on the coast, rather than in Idaho’s capital city.
Freshie’s originally got its start at a farmers’ market in Utah back in 2009. It eventually expanded to a food truck and then to a brick-and-mortar restaurant. Today, there are two restaurants in Utah (Park City and Salt Lake City), and its newest location is at The Warehouse Food Hall in Boise.
Everything served at Freshie’s is prepared using high-quality ingredients. This restaurant works with local vendors to create entrees that are fresh, healthy, and packed with flavor.
The most popular item on the menu is the lobster roll. Several years ago, this was voted the best lobster roll at a competition in Maine, and after one bite, you have likely found your new favorite seafood item.
The lobster rolls feature a toasted New England-style bun, mayo, hot butter, seasoning, and tons of lobster. In fact, the XL roll features 5 ounces of lobster alone.
The menu at Freshie’s isn’t extensive but there are still plenty of items that may catch your attention. The lobster macaroni and cheese is a must-try and the lobster bisque is certainly delicious.
You can also try items like a grilled cheese sandwich (add lobster for a little kick!), salad, clam chowder, and a crab roll.
With fresh seafood right here in the Gem State, there’s no need to rush to the coast when the craving strikes. Freshie’s is where you can enjoy fresh lobster any day of the week.
