Although Hawaii is mostly known for its natural wonders, it has its fair share of man-made wonders too. The Road to Hana in Maui is perhaps the most famous with scenic views, 59 bridges, and 620 turns, which makes it the windiest road in the state. It is also on the National Register of Historic Places. Built between 1899 and 1902, St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church on Hawaii Island is known as the painted church and it’s quite a sight to behold. The interior walls and ceilings are painted with colorful frescoes of Biblical scenes that are breathtaking to see. 

What are the most famous historical Hawaii landmarks?

The Aloha State is filled with numerous historical landmarks, both natural and man-made. In Lahaina, the oldest banyan tree in the state is located at Banyan Tree Court. This remarkable tree is approximately 150 years old and has grown to be over 60 feet tall, has a circumference of a quarter mile, and 16 major trunks in addition to the main trunk. You have to see it in person to believe something like this exists. Pearl Harbor, of course, is the best-known historical landmark in Hawaii, at least to most people living in this country. Today, you can visit the USS Arizona and the museums at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial site.

As the only island state, Hawaii is unique in its own right but it does have a variety of unique places on each of the islands. One such place is at Haleakala National Park, located along the Hana Highway in Maui, has a bamboo forest that provides an enchanting place to stroll through. In Kauai near Port Allen Harbor, you can find Sea Glass Beach made of colorful sea glass from old bottles and auto glass that was dumped here decades ago.
