There are many great parks in Georgia, and this is one of the best when you're looking to get the kids out of the house.

The park has an excellent playground with plenty of neat attractions, from traditional playground swings and slides...

...to more unique structures that look like something out of American Ninja Warrior.

Within the same facility but a slightly separate area, you can find the Sprayground section of the park.

This miniature water park is perfect for younger kids looking to cool off on a hot day!

Note that the Sprayground is open seasonally throughout the summer and requires an admission fee to enter.

Looking to rent the Sprayground for a birthday party or family celebration? There's a great pavilion that's perfect for festivities!

Elizabeth Porter Park also has a 1/3-mile paved walking trail with a neat 130-foot mural that documents the history of the neighborhood.

The neighborhood has quite the history. The Elizabeth Porter Recreation Center, nicknamed "the Canteen" once stood here. Prior to the opening of integrated Kennestone Hospital in 1950, the neighborhood also housed the Cobb County Cooperative Negro Hospital.

For more information about the Elizabeth Porter Park, including hours and how to register for the Sprayground, check out the City of Marietta's website.
