Trains played an important role in Georgia’s development as an economic titan. There are many options for passenger train rides in Georgia, and even today, you still see freight trains traveling through much of the Peach State. Many adorable little railroad towns lie just off our major highways that meander through the state. One such town is Rutledge, just off I-20 in Morgan County. The city’s population is only around 900, and it’s home to a darling little downtown area and a small diner that, appropriately enough, is housed in an old caboose that gives it its name.
