Take A Boardwalk Trail Through Parks On The South Peachtree Creek Path Trail In Georgia
If you’re looking for a great easy paved trail in Georgia, there’s not many options better than the South Peachtree Creek Path Trail. This kid-friendly hike is just a little over two miles in length and doesn’t have much of an elevation gain. It’s a boardwalk trail that connects two Decatur parks to one another and will take you through some lovely green space right in the middle of an urban environment.
The trail boasts a surprising array of landscapes despite being a simple 2.2-mile out and back trek. It's just a couple of miles from downtown Decatur and connects Mason Mill Park to Medlock Park.
Since the trail is paved, it is accessible by wheelchairs and strollers. It's also a great option for those with mobility issues or looking for a hike on the easier side with kids.
One unique area of Mason Mill Park is the Decatur Waterworks. This facility once procured drinking water for the city of Decatur, but was closed down in the 1940s.
