The Outdoor Café In Wyoming That Is The Prettiest Place To Enjoy A Warm Afternoon

Jackson, Wyoming: a place where rugged peaks kiss the sky and the air smells unbelievably fresh as it flows down the mountains and rolls over the region's stunning lakes. This historic town is full of time-honored culinary gems, each boasting hearty, down-home flavors that stay true to the rich bounties of the Mountain West. Among them, Café Genevieve is a true Wyoming icon — a delicious gem that has received numerous accolades for its fresh, farm-to-table dishes and cozy ambiance. But you don't have to dine inside to get a taste of everything that's special about this little café. In fact, pull up a chair outside on the patio and you’ll get an experience that lingers long after the last bite!

Today, Café Genevieve wears its history like a well-loved apron. It's been a culinary fixture in Jackson Hole since 2010, housed in a charming, unpretentious historic log cabin that dates all the way back to the early 1900s.

Fortunately for both locals and visitors alike, dining here feels familiar and welcoming — just like coming home.

The café is open for breakfast and lunch — but don't think for one moment that all they serve up is pastries and sandwiches! The menu is an eclectic symphony of flavors that has a little something for everyone.

In fact, one of their most famous offerings is their sweet, slow-baked, and thick-cut "Pig Candy."

And yes … it's absolutely worth the hype.

But, beyond the bacon, morning at Cafe Genevieve means choices. The “Most Noble Pig” reigns supreme: a plate piled high with house-cured pork belly, poached eggs, and velvety hollandaise. Pair it with crispy breakfast potatoes and you’re ready to conquer whatever the day brings.

If you’re chasing lighter dreams, try the homemade blueberry coffee cake; stuffed French toast with bananas foster, rum sauce, and homemade whipped cream; the sourdough chocolate chip waffles, or any number of sweet, creative offerings.

And in case you were curious … it's all made fresh in house! From start to finish, this quaint restaurant is a high watermark of farm-to-table cuisine. Everything here is either made from scratch or locally sourced.

As the sun climbs higher, the menu shifts gears, but the creativity and attention to detail never wavers. The meatball sub and Reubens are tasty classics. And then there are the trout tacos — corn tortillas cradling delicate trout fillets, adorned with slaw and zesty lime crema. Or how about trying a tangy Pimento Chicken Quesadilla on for size?

Tacos, pasta, you name it.

Vegetarians, fear not. The roasted vegetable quinoa bowl is a colorful mosaic of flavors. In fact, there are quite a few vegetarian options on the menu - just another thing this darling café is known for.

The food alone is worth it and you've no doubt heard the rave reviews before. But the menu really gets kicked up a notch when enjoyed al fresco! After all, is there a better spot to dine outdoors than in the heart of Jackson?

In summer, Café Genevieve's patio is a sun-kissed haven that is absolutely picture-perfect. Wrought-iron tables, vibrant flowers, and the Tetons standing sentinel beyond the Square make the outdoor dining here absolutely spectacular.

And yes, there's shade! It's a refreshing escape when Jackson's summer sun is on full blast.

Plus indoor-outdoor seating too.

Here, the mountain breeze carries whispers of adventure, and suddenly, your coffee tastes richer, your mimosa sparkles brighter, and the refreshing flavors of lavender lemonade or a fresh watermelon margarita are sure to hit the spot.

And guess what? Food Network has taken notice over the years too. This log cabin eatery has become a local legend. And for good reason!

The next time you’re in Jackson, follow the scent of sizzling bacon. The breezy patio at Café Genevieve awaits, and this charming spot is the perfect place to enjoy a few slices of whatever suits your fancy!
