One Of The Best Mexican Restaurants In Wyoming Is Actually Inside A Small Town Gas Station
Taqueria Mexicana Mi Tierra, located inside a gas station in Cheyenne, offers exceptional Mexican food that defies its unconventional setting.
There's something to be said for the little hole-in-the-wall restaurants you find in surprising places. Even though the surroundings might be less than conventional, that doesn't mean the food isn't good. In fact, sometimes it's downright amazing.
That's the case with a tasty little taqueria in Wyoming. Most people tend to pass it by because it's housed in one side of a small town gas station. Those who do give it a try are hooked for life. Just one meal is all it takes to realize that the food you get at Taqueria Mexicana Mi Tierra is far from typical gas station grub and that it's actually one of the best Mexican restaurants in all the state.
If you stop by the Circle C Gas Station at 314 Circle C Del Range in Cheyenne, plan on staying long enough to eat at the terrific little Mexican restaurant inside the convenience store.
The Taqueria Mexicana Mi Tierra is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays.
Once inside, you'll realize that this is not a typical gas station fast food joint. The restaurant is clean and cozy, and the food is to-die-for. The salsas, sauces, and guacamole are freshly made every day and oh-so-delicious.
The menu is filled with all of your favorite Mexican fare, and there's no way to make you understand how truly scrumptious it all is. They serve a yummy breakfast burrito and the selection of tacos — from the street variety to fried to stuffed with barbacoa or fish —
is delectable.
You'll want to take your time savoring every bite of whatever you order, whether it's the Al Pastor or one of the stuffed and sauced burritos.
Insiders tip: everyone who has tried the tamales at Taqueria Mexicana Mi Tierra say they're the best in the state.
Plus, while you can get stale, mass-produced churros at a lot of convenience stores, none of them compare to the warm, cinnamon-sweet cream-filled pastries you'll get at this particular gas station.
The churros alone are enough to lure you back to this taqueria time and again!
