There’s Nothing Better Than This Mouthwatering Burger Trail In Wyoming

Wyoming is known for a lot of things but food definitely isn’t one of them. Even though we don’t have a lot of fancy restaurants, we knock it out of the park when it comes to burgers. Wyoming has some of the best downhome diners in the country, and if you follow this food trail you’ll be able to sample ten of the best.

To follow this route, you can start in either Cheyenne, Casper, Lander, Jackson, Rock Springs, or Laramie. Because I’m based in Cheyenne I’m going to use it as my starting point, but feel free to change it however you need to.

To follow our route, start in Cheyenne. After enjoying the burger joints we’ve mentioned for the city take I-25 to Casper. Next, take US26-W west to Lander. After Lander, follow US287-N to Jackson. Your next step will be taking US191-S to Rock Springs. After Rock Springs take I-80 East to Laramie. Lastly, follow I-80 East to finish up in Cheyenne.

2 Doors Down- 118 East 17th Street, Cheyenne

Located in downtown Cheyenne, 2 Doors Down has a collection of the kind of food you’d expect from a downhome diner. The joint serves shakes, fried mushrooms, and burgers which customers can customize with a variety of different toppings.

Luxury Diner- 1401 W Lincolnway, Cheyenne

This diner was actually fashioned out of a trolley car. It opened in 1926 and the décor hasn’t been changed since, giving it a really unique and authentic vintage vibe. The diner has also been featured on the Travel Channel.

Johnny J's Diner- 1705 E 2nd St., Casper

Johnny J’s Diner is a 50s-style soda fountain. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, chili, and soups; all made from scratch.

JC's Burgers and Catering- 711 E Collins Drive, Casper

A Casper original, JC Burgers and Catering is known for their out of this world malts and shakes. The spot is also child and group friendly, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a solid family excursion.

Liberty Burger- 160 N Cache Street, Jackson

Though it is a national chain, Liberty Burger serves up some of the best Texas-style burgers in the world. Don’t let the fact they’re a chain scare you, they’re a cut above any Shari’s or Denny’s.

Broadway Burger Station- 628 Broadway Street, Rock Springs

Broadway Burger Station is a quintessential diner straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. The joint offers up homemade burgers for fast food prices, making it one of the more affordable attractions on this list.

Grub’s Drive In- 415 Paulson Street, Rock Springs

Established in 1946, this family owned and operated diner is a classic piece of Americana. The stand out burger is the Shamrock, which comes with cheese, mustard, pickle, and onion.

Roxie's On Grand- 221 E Grand, Laramie

Dripping with brown and gold spirit, Roxie’s On Grand is a great spot to drop in and celebrate the achievements of UW’s athletics department. The joint is also home to the Brown ‘n’ Gold Bar. It has a strong focus on sports, so if you’re looking for a quitter environment you may want to skip this one.

Terry Bison Ranch - 51 E I25 Service Road, Cheyenne

Far from being just a restaurant, Terry Bison Ranch is a genuine Cheyenne attraction. The business offers train tours, trail rides on horseback, a kid corral, and an old-fashioned photo shop. If you happen to stop by, definitely try a bison burger. They’re expensive but they’re so worth it.

Cowfish- 148 Main Street, Lander

Located on Main Street in Lander, Cowfish is a dream for anyone looking for a classier diner. In addition to great burgers, the joint has a hip setting and an impressive selection of wine and beer.
