This Wyoming Restaurant Was Named The Best In The State And You’ll Want To Make Reservations Right Now
One of the surprising things about Wyoming is the world-class dining. Who knew that across all those small towns and wide-open spaces, the state would be home to some of the best restaurants on the planet?
When you're right in the middle of it all, it's tough to pick the best, but many sources from Travel and Leisure to Business Insider agree that the Snake River Grill is the best restaurant in Wyoming. With a superb atmosphere and to-die-for food that you won't find anywhere else, how can we argue?
The Snake River Grill is at 84 East Broadway in Jackson.
It's nestled away in Crabtree Corner, a little plaza across from the town square. You have to walk back into the alcove, past the Haagen-Dazs shop, and up the stairs - but it's worth the short trip!
Once you step inside, you'll immediately be transported from a shopping district into a rustic lodge.
The pleasant atmosphere extends to the full bar, where you can have a before-dinner drink.
If you visit during the summer, you might choose to enjoy your meal on the deck.
Although the surroundings definitely add a positive element, you go to the Snake River Grill for the food - and it's fabulous. There are three courses plus dessert on the menu, and everything is excellent. The truffle fries, in particular, are amazing...
...as are the sweet onion rings dipped in jalapeno and cilantro-spiced ale batter and served on a branding iron.
The steak tartare pizza is big enough for two and could easily make the jump from "starter" to "main entree."
The first-course menu includes a variety of salads and soups such as a tasty Panzanella salad with locally grown tomatoes and a roasted heirloom tomato soup with Peekytoe crab.
As if your choices weren't difficult enough up to this point, you'll have a devil of a time trying to choose between the delectable main courses such as the wild game Korean hot bowl...
The picture doesn't do the hot bowl justice - it's huge in real life!
...a choice of beef steaks...
...and other mouthwatering meals including tuna, halibut, chicken, elk tenderloin, or the pork shank served with housemade tortilla chips.
Like the other menu items, the desserts at the Snake River Grill are familiar but with a unique twist, like the made-to-order doughnuts served warm with a selection of dipping sauces...
...and the Eskimo bars made in-house and served with warm caramel sauce.
It may be tucked away off the main strip, but the Snake River Grill is a gem you'll be glad to have found.
Jackson has actually become a food destination here out west, so the Snake River Grill is in good company. If you missed our article about the scrumptious eateries there, check it out here.
