Dotty Dumpling's Dowry is located in the heart of the campus area and it serves up some of the best burgers in Wisconsin. The story of this unique restaurant dates back to 1969, when an entrepreneur named Jeff Stanley opened up a jewelry shop in Des Moines.

In 1974 he moved to Madison and opened up a new business with a different offerings – hamburgers. He kept the quirky name!

The restaurant has had a few different Madison locations but it has never been very far from campus. For nearly two decades it has been tucked into Fairchild Street, just steps away from many university academic buildings and residence halls.

Dotty Dumpling's Dowry has built a huge following and it has helped many UW students make it through tough semesters. It’s also a fun place to celebrate on game day!

The restaurant is filled with tons of UW-Madison memorabilia but the star of this restaurant is the food – the burgers are thick, juicy and delicious. Be sure to arrive hungry!
