The bar and grill started off as a confectionery that sold groceries, ice-cream, and beer on tap to the neighborhood residents. Over the past several decades, the spot has become a local hangout for West Virginia University (WVU) students and visitors that come to Morgantown throughout the year.

Locals love to gather at Mario’s Fishbowl to enjoy good drinks and food after a long week.

This popular spot has three central locations, with two in Morgantown and one in Westover.

The name “Mario’s Fishbowl” comes from the famous frosty beer that’s served in large goblets.

Did you know that back in the 1960’s, a Fishbowl cost only 35 cents?

The frosty drink quickly became a town favorite that branded the bar for decades to come.

If you’re not in the mood for beer, they also have a great selection of cocktails.

How many hot dogs can you eat at one time? Over the years, students have taken part in eating contests to see how many hot dogs and pickles they can eat or how fast they can drink a beer.
