It's no secret that the Northwest is a food lover's paradise. After all, we're home to fresh agriculture and iconic companies from the coast all the way over to eastern Washington. If you're looking for some real Washington state food, take a look at the 12 iconic foods listed below.

Based in Seattle, Theo Chocolate is the first and only organic and fair trade chocolate in the country. After trying one of their rich, smooth chocolate bars, you'll definitely be able to tell the difference.
2. Rainier Cherries
Regular cherries are delicious, but they're no match for Rainier Cherries. This local hybrid was created at Washington State University from two other types of cherries, and it was named after the iconic Mount Rainier.
3. Tim's Cascade Potato Chips
Whether it's Sea Salt & Vinegar, Jalapeno, or just the Original flavor, you can't go wrong with this Northwest snack. What began in a makeshift facility in Auburn has now become an addicting local favorite that's won dozens of taste awards, including Best Chips in Seattle.
4. Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon
This grilled seafood dish is by far one of the most popular around the state. It's pretty hard to resist, especially when it's made with a sweet honey-balsamic glaze.

Apples are a Washington icon. Our state alone is responsible for nearly 60% of total fresh apple production for the entire country. Plus, they're so versatile. You can make apple juice, apple pies, apple cider, caramel apples, and so much more.
7. Aplets & Cotlets
This famous fruit-and-nut candy comes from Cashmere in Central Washington. The sweet confections are made with apples and walnuts, as well as apricots with walnuts.

Washington leads the nation in red raspberry production, so it's no surprise they're a sweet treat around here. You can make them into pies, cheesecakes, or just snack on them by themselves.
9. Almond Roca
Speaking of sweet things, this famous candy is manufactured here in Tacoma by Brown-Haley. The scrumptious hard toffee comes covered in chocolate and coated with ground almonds.
10. Huckleberries
Huckleberries aren't an official state fruit, but we certainly have our fair share of them, particularly out on the mountains. You can also make these into some delectable jams and pies.
11. Dick's Deluxe Burgers
This chain restaurant only serves their top-rated burgers in Washington, with locations around the Seattle area as well as one in Spokane. Their Dick's Deluxe is the most famous option, which pairs perfectly with a side of fries.

Nothing matches the mild, sweet taste of a Walla Walla Sweet Onion. Our designated state veggie is delicious by itself, or piled high on sandwiches and barbecued burgers.
