This Whimsical Italian Restaurant In Washington Will Steal Your Heart

For over 20 years, Tomato Street has been delighting Washingtonians with delicious Italian food in a whimsical setting.

Tomato Street has three locations: North Spokane (pictured here), River Park Square (downtown Spokane), and just over the border in Coeur d'alene, Idaho.

This North Division restaurant is its original location.

As soon as you enter, you'll notice the offbeat decor.

Tomato Street is far from tacky, but it definitely has a quirky atmosphere you'll love.

You may have noticed the paper tablecloths. That's no mistake.

Here, patrons of all ages are encouraged to create a masterpiece on the tablecloths. And yes, you'll be provided with crayons.

You'll also find several chalkboards throughout the restaurant featuring the daily specials (and any drawings the servers desire).

But don't be put off by the eclectic decor or the paper tablecloths -- the food at Tomato Street is scrumptious.

Everything is made fresh daily, and the ingredients are purchased locally whenever possible.

The pizzas are cooked to perfection in a brick oven, and they're exceptional.

The edges of the crust are infused with roasted garlic, which is as delightful as it sounds.

The classic Chicken Parmigiana comes with fettuccine alfredo on the side, so you'll get a double dose of deliciousness.

The baked spaghetti is another favorite -- in fact, you can get any pasta you'd like baked if you request it.

Every single meal comes with garlic bread, which we highly recommend dipping in a side of marinara sauce...

... and if you save room for dessert, you won't be sorry.

This is a seasonal cheesecake special topped with locally grown huckleberries.

Both Spokane locations are open daily at 11 a.m.

Closing times vary, but they're always open until at least 9 p.m.
