This Enchanting Washington Wine Cruise Has Summer Written All Over It
Argosy Cruises offers a 90-minute wine cruise around Lake Union and part of Lake Washington in Seattle every Saturday during summer and fall.
For those who imbibe, wine is delightful in any season... but it's safe to say it tastes even better when it's sipped on a luxury boat on a warm afternoon. Every Saturday this summer (and for most of fall), Argosy Cruises is offering a beautiful 90 minute cruise around Lake Union and part of Lake Washington in Seattle for wine lovers and their friends. No wine consumption is required, but having a great time is a given.
Argosy Cruises has been around for 70 years, chartering Washingtonians around Pacific Northwest waterways.
They currently offer seven different cruises to choose from.
The Saturday Wine Cruise is an hour and a half long, and you'll enjoy every minute.
During the summer, you can choose a 12:45 p.m. or a 2:45 p.m. departure. After September, they'll depart at 12:45 only.
During your cruise, you'll be treated to three 3 oz. pours of the featured wines, which change every month.
And if you're ready for more, you'll be able to purchase more wine (or cocktails) at the full bar.
The wines featured are all Washington wines (of course), but each month focuses on a different region or theme.
July offers tastings from the Yakima Valley, while August will feature Seattle winery vino.
The cost of the cruise is $48, or $38 if you're not tasting.
If you have a group of 20 or more (birthday party, anyone?), you can book a group tour for a discounted rate. Cruisers of all ages are welcome, and children 3 and under can ride free.
Lake Union is the perfect place for the wine cruise.
You'll see the Seattle skyline, the Union Bay Natural Area, Gas Works Park, and houseboats (including the Sleepless in Seattle house).
Summers are fleeting here in Washington, and this is a Saturday only experience.
