Sometimes described as the East Coast's answer to Napa Valley, Virginia's wine country could impress just about any wine enthusiast. With over 200 wineries and dozens of wine trails from which to choose, there's no shortage of places to sample wine here in the Old Dominion. Today's destination stands apart from the rest, not only because of its impressive wine but also because of its positively unique location. While most Virginia wineries feature beautiful rolling hills and mountain views, what you'll admire about Gabriele Rausse Winery is its treehouse-like setting. Tucked away in the woods, this enchanting winery is one you'll want to visit soon. If you ask us, the Gabriele Rausse reviews are in; it's fantastic!
Just south of Charlottesville awaits one of the region's most unique wineries: Gabriele Rausse Winery.
The moment you set foot inside the tasting room, you'll marvel at the treehouse-like setting, complete with giant windows that open up to the surrounding woods.
Equally impressive, of course, is the wine itself. Gabriele Rausse is named for the founder, who immigrated from Italy to establish multiple vineyards in the region.
We loved that each tasting comes with homemade bread and olive oil -- it's really the perfect pairing.
The wine you'll taste is dry and European-style. If it's your first time visiting, you'll want to try a flight of some of the most popular wines and blends to find out what you like the most.
We enjoyed a sampling of the red wines and found that they were all spectacular.
Food pairings are also available on a seasonal basis. Homemade pasta will undoubtedly enhance just about any wine you choose!
Much different from many of the area's wide-open vineyards with views for miles, this cozy tasting room is the perfect place to go for a more peaceful and secluded wine-tasting experience.
No matter your reason for visiting, you'll agree that Gabriele Rausse is a hidden gem of a Virginia winery.
