The best things in life are free, aren't they? And, as it turns out, the really great things aren't that expensive either. Specifically, we're talking about the food from Route 19 Hot Dog Shop, a local establishment that's known as the coolest hot dog shop on the planet. Come with us as we dive into what makes this shop so extraordinary -- and refreshingly affordable.
Ten dollars doesn't seem to stretch very far these days, but when you visit Route 19 Hot Dog Shop, you can rest assured that $10 will provide an entire meal for yourself, and probably with some change to spare. From the moment you arrive, you'll appreciate the nostalgic, laid-back atmosphere of this casual eatery. While they do offer a drive-through option, we'd recommend stepping inside for the full experience.
Take a look at the menu and you'll notice that hardly anything costs more than $10. In fact, an all-beef hot dog with mustard, chili, and onions will set you back just $3.79. For something a little out of the ordinary, there are a handful of specialty dogs to choose from. One of our favorites is the Clint Eastwood Dog, a hot dog topped with homemade chili and tangy barbecue sauce.
You can make your meal a combo for just a few bucks more to include chips and a drink. Or, order a bundle of hot dogs and feed your whole crew.
And while hot dogs are certainly at the heart of the menu, they're hardly the only thing to enjoy here. Folks also swear by the smash burgers and barbecue sandwiches. As for sides, the fresh-cut fries are a must. But you could also try onion rings or tater tots depending on your preference.
As rings true for all local businesses, it's not just the product that keeps customers returning time and time again; it's the service. And folks agree that it's truly top-notch at Route 19.
