All aboard! Depot Grille is located at 42 Middlebrook Ave Staunton, VA 24401.
The restaurant is a nod to the town's train history, which began in 1854 and prompted commerce and development.
Just outside, you'll notice an old rail car from the Chessie System. This sets the stage for this historic feel of the restaurant's interior.
Walking inside to the converted depot, you'll find a restaurant filled with charm and hospitality.
The menu, featuring seasonal produce and locally-sourced meat, offers delicious and causal fare.
If you're stopping in for the first time, the bison burger is a must-try. Cooked to absolute perfection, the burger comes with your choice of cheese and delicious fries.
Other popular menu items include seafood entrees, such as the shrimp skewers and the crab cake.
And you'll definitely want to save room for dessert. The homemade strawberry cheesecake is nothing short of heavenly.
Another fascinating historical feature of the Depot is the 40-foot bar, which was originally part of the luxurious Ten Eyck Hotel in Albany.
