Calling all shellfish enthusiasts! The 16th annual Blue Crab Festival in Virginia is on the books for September 10, 2023, and we think it promises to be the best year yet. In addition to all-you-can-eat seafood -- highlighting blue crabs, of course -- the event promises a fun array of family-friendly festivities, including live music. There's a lot to love about Chesapeake, Virginia. It's surrounded by beautiful natural wonders, such as the Great Dismal Swamp, but it's always got something fun going on, too.
If you happen to stop by during the weekend of September 10th this year, you'll get to enjoy one of the most delightful events of the year: the annual Blue Crab Festival.
As you can see from the flyer below, the event takes place between 2:00 - 5:00, and it's hosted by the South Norfolk Ruritans. Tickets are $60 after September 1st; however, that includes a whole lot of food.
In fact, this is an all-you-can-eat event! That's right; once you've paid for admission, you'll have the opportunity to chow down on as many steamed blue crabs as your heart desires.
If you've never sampled this Chesapeake Bay delicacy, it's an absolute must. And don't worry; they will be seasoned to perfection. Just don't be afraid to get your hands messy!
In addition to crabs, the event offers fried catfish as well as barbecue. Truly, there's something for everyone to enjoy at this delicious event!
