The Viking Yurt at Park City Mountain Resort offers a unique dining experience involving a sleigh ride and a gourmet meal in a yurt.

The best dining experiences not only provide a delicious meal but offer something unique — an experience that you will always remember. The Viking Yurt at Park City Mountain Resort certainly offers a dining adventure unlike anything else you will find in Utah. Not only will you dine 8,700 feet up a mountain and in a yurt, but you will reach the restaurant on a sleigh. As we said — it’s unforgettable.

Dining at the Viking Yurt is an experience of a lifetime. This adventure takes approximately four hours and from the minute you arrive, you are in for an evening that is beautiful, romantic, and delicious.

Your night will begin with a 25-minute sleigh ride that takes you up the mountain. You’ll want to bundle up for the brisk ride but you'll also have the views of the night sky, trees, city lights, and mountains to distract you from the cold.

The sleigh will drop you off at the heated Viking Yurt on Park City Mountain. Here, you’ll be greeted with a warm fire, a rustic atmosphere, and soft music playing in the background. You can also enjoy a cup of glogg, a hot, non-alcoholic berry drink with just the perfect amount of spices.

The Viking Yurt provides a six-course gourmet dinner that will delight your taste buds. The meal will include soup, salad, and a sorbet palate cleanser that will prepare you for the upcoming entree.

Your meal features an entrée, complete with vegetables, potatoes, and more. You will also enjoy a selection of cheese and fruit that is served on an aspen slab.

The final course is dessert, which is a delicious Marzipan and Valrhona chocolate cake with vanilla cardamon ice cream.

Alcoholic services are available at the yurt, and coffee and tea are offered during dessert time only.

The dining experience at the Viking Yurt is only available from December to March each year. You will need to make reservations in advance as less than 40 people are seated nightly in the yurt.

Also, children under nine years old are not allowed on this adventure.

As you ride the sleigh back down the mountain, you’ll be happy and full. The dining experience at the Viking Yurt checks all of the boxes for a memorable evening.
