Those of us who have lived in Texas for a while know that the best restaurants usually don't look that way on the outside. Hole-in-the-wall joints are our specialty, and Larry's French Market definitely falls into that category. Blink and you might miss this hidden gem, but within its walls is some of the most delicious seafood around. Trust us, you're going to love this ramshackle Cajun market in Texas.
On the outside, Larry's doesn't look like anything to write home about. An obnoxious red and yellow color scheme is anything but aesthetic, and a crab decal plastered on the roof reeks of tackiness.
It's a totally different story on the inside. A lively, upbeat atmosphere and checkered tablecloths bring friends and family together over delicious seafood.
An all-you-can-eat buffet is offered Thursday through Saturday night from 5 p.m. until close. It features a salad bar and over 20 classic Cajun dishes like dirty rice, BBQ crabs, and frog legs.
Two different types of gumbo, Etouffe, and red beans + rice are also available. Nothing like a big bowl of warm, spicy goodness to fill you with happiness.
Visiting on a non-buffet night? Don't worry - portion size is never an issue. The entrees are already big enough for a small army, plus each one comes with your choice of two sides.
When crawfish season rolls around, there's no where else you'd rather be. Larry's celebrates in a Texas-sized manner. Get it boiled, fried, in fettuccine, or as etouffe.
Great food isn't the only reason to eat here. Live bands play Cajun, Zydeco, and Swamp music every weekend!
You can even reserve a table right on the dance floor!
he restaurant is located at 3701 Pure Atlantic RD, Groves, TX 77619. For more information, visit their website or Facebook page. To reserve a table, call (409) 962-3381.
