If you have a sweet tooth, you have to try the homemade fudge from The Old Fudge Store in the quaint East Texas town of Jefferson.

Located in the heart of Jefferson's historic downtown district, the building dates to the late 1800s, and it has served as a general mercantile and confectionary since 1979.

Upon stepping inside, you'll notice that the store has a bit of everything on its shelves.

From nostalgic candies to home-canned goods to hot sauces, there's little you can't find here.

The Old Fudge Store doesn't just sell food, either. It doubles as an antique shop and also offers toys, Jefferson souvenirs, kitchen gadgets, and so much more.

Locals know the real star of the show is the fudge. The counter is a whopping 30 feet long, and there are over 20 delicious flavors to choose from.

You'll see everything from classics like chocolate walnut to more unique varieties such as cookies and cream and banana. Can't decide? The staff is happy to let you sample any flavors you're curious about before you commit.

Seasonal flavors, such as pumpkin and cranberry during the fall, are also available, as well as six different types of sugar-free fudge.

In addition to fudge, the store also boasts more than 60 types of gourmet chocolates (25 of which are sugar-free!) Turtles, truffles, and pralines are just a few of the decadent, handmade treats you'll see.
