The Pancake Breakfast Is Just The Beginning Of Your Adventure At This South Dakota Fort

Fort Hays in Rapid City, South Dakota, offers a unique Old West experience with a 99-cent pancake breakfast, film set tours, and a Chuckwagon Supper and Show.

The days of the Wild West are long over, but South Dakota still has much of the iconic grasslands where bison roamed back in the 1800s. Because of this enduring natural beauty, the movie "Dances with Wolves" was filmed here, and you can visit the film location and celebrate our state's past. You'll want to start with the pancake breakfast...but it's just the beginning of your adventures at this fun spot.

You'll find the Fort Hays Old West Town and Dinner Show at 2255 Fort Hays Drive in Rapid City.

If you're looking for an inexpensive breakfast with a unique theme, you'll want to start your day with the 99-cent pancake breakfast at the fort.

Cowboy Breakfast is served every morning, starting at 7 AM and going until 11 AM.

The pancakes are all-you-can-eat, and you'll also enjoy biscuits and gravy, sausage, cowboy coffee, milk, hot chocolate and soda.

Enjoy some old-time piano tunes while you eat.

"Dances with Wolves" was filmed on this set in 1990, and the National Film Registry and Library of Congress selected it for preservation based on its cultural significance.
