This Textile Mill District-Turned-Food Hall And More In South Carolina Can Satisfy Any Craving
The Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company, known locally as "The Bleachery," opened in 1929 with 400 employees who bleached, dyed, printed, and finished cloth. It was one of 34 textile mills in the area at the time, and it grew to 4,800 employees at its peak in 1965, one of the largest textile finishing plants in the country. When it closed in 1998, it was the only mill still operating in Rock Hill. For decades, it has sat vacant, and it was listed in the National Register on February 5, 2013. Finally, the property was purchased by The Sherbert Group, known for breathing life into old buildings, and what has resulted is an incredible unique mixed-use space including luxury apartments, a barber shop, and a food hall. You'll love seeing what's been done with this project, known as The Power House, in Rock Hill.
The Power House is located on Technology Center Way in Rock Hill and opened in June 2023. Great care was taken to preserve parts of the original structure when possible, such as the iconic smokestacks.
The Food Hall is located on the ground floor and has a variety of amazing food options that are sure to suit whatever your appetite for the day is.
The atmosphere is energetic and it's a great spot for meeting friends to hang out and enjoy some great food together.
The Rock Hill community has been excited to see this project completed, and retailers approached the developer early on in the development stage. Among the options to choose from at The Power House Food Hall are Naroodle Chibi (delicious ramen) ...
... Flip Out Burger, Ms. Lillian's Kitchen, Chilango Tacos Y Mas, The Local Scoop, Middle James Brewing, and the Power House Bar.
Also at the Power House, you can enjoy live entertainment by talented performers, including a monthly Downtown Jazz Jam!
