This Historic South Carolina Train Depot Is Now A Beautiful Restaurant Right On The Tracks

Rail side dining in the Palmetto State isn't an option that's available in very many locations, but it's a can't-miss adventure at the historic Southern Railway Passenger Depot in Branchville, South Carolina.

It was built in 1877 and was an included rail stop on a 1909 rail tour made by President-elect William Howard Taft. The future U.S. President made a speech in Branchville during the campaign.

Today, the historic rail depot has another reason for people to gather: it's a popular eatery right on the tracks in tiny downtown Branchville.

The restaurant is called Eatery at the Depot and it doles out a dining experience like no other with flavorful American and seafood dishes.

It's open three nights a week, Thursday through Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for dinner and has a dining room filled with the air of nostalgia.

In another part of the train depot, a museum gives visitors a step into the past with a variety of furniture and equipment from a bygone era at this train depot.

For a dining adventure you won't easily forget, pack everyone into the car and head to Eatery at the Depot in Branchville.
