If there is any type of cuisine synonymous with Rhode Island, it's seafood. We're called the Ocean State for a reason. With over 400 miles of coastline, it's hard to drive more than five miles without finding a spot to get some delicious fresh seafood. We are so lucky to not only have access to all this fantastic food but to have festivals that celebrate it! The Rhode Island Seafood Festival, held in Providence each year, will be celebrating its 14th event in 2024. It'll be taking over India Point Park on September 7-8, 2024, and we're already salivating in anticipation of all the delicious bounty of the sea that will be served!
The Rhode Island seafood festival is an annual tradition that locals and travelers alike look forward to every year.
This is the 14th year the festival has been held!
This year the festival is held on Saturday, September 7 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, September 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Taking place at India Point Park in Providence, the festival hosts a multitude of trucks and stands offering seafood of all sorts.
Satisfy your cravings with oysters, lobster rolls, stuffed quahogs, and everything in between!
The hardest part of attending this festival might be not eating absolutely everything in sight!
Best of all, there is live music to accompany your meal throughout both days of the festival. So you can discover some new favorite musicians while stuffing yourself.
What are you most excited to chow down on at the Rhode Island Seafood Festival? Let us know in the comments section! The website of the Rhode Island Seafood Festival will have all the details on this year's event, and you can follow the Facebook page of this massive seafood festival for up-to-the-minute announcements on participating food trucks and bands as we get closer to the event.
While you're in Providence, make sure to check out the state's newest park. This is a two-day event, so if you're coming from far away and want to stay the night, we highly recommend booking a room at the Hilton Garden Inn Providence, which is only a five-minute walk from the site of the festival!
