For a farm fresh, whimsically designed meal, Farm Spirit is the place to go. Featuring a prix fixe vegan meal comprised of multiple small plates, this SE Portland restaurant has drawn a large following. Watch as chefs prepare your beautifully presented meal right in front of you, and be amazed by the precision in which flavor, art and fresh ingredients are combined.

Located in the Buckman neighborhood, Farm Spirit serves dinner Wednesday through Saturday.

Diners sits at the bar, giving them a great view of the food being prepared, and allowing interactions with the chefs.

Tickets are sold to the dinners in advance, with two seatings each night, and a third late-night seating on Saturdays.

All the food served is as well-balanced in aesthetics as it is in flavor.

While the plates are small, a full menu meal serves up 15 such plates, allowing you to taste a range of flavors and combinations in one meal.

All of Farm Spirit's offerings are seasonal, and outside of sugar and spices, ingredients are sourced from within 100 miles of the restaurant.

Wine and non-alcoholic pairings are also offered along with your meal, or you can bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy along with your meal.

You can purchase tickets to Farm Spirit's meals online in advance. Walk-ins are not taken, and tickets are not refundable once purchased (they are transferable though).

If you have never had a vegan meal, you definitely are going to want to start here, as you will not be disappointed.

And there is even room for dessert at the end. Shown here is a caramelized parsnip with whiskey butterscotch, hazelnut crumble, sage and sorrel.
