If you love history, and you also love delicious dining, have we got the place for you! This historic train depot in Medford was all but abandoned for decades before it was restored and brought back into service as a restaurant. Check out Porters:

Welcome to Porters! This beautiful restaurant is situated inside the former train depot that was built in 1910.

The address of the restaurant is 147 N. Front St., Medford, Oregon.

The train station was once bustling and busy with passengers coming and going, but between 1955 and 1996, it was largely abandoned - either vacant or used as a freight office. It's been painstakingly remodeled, and has received its designation on the National Register of Historic Places, and now you can enjoy a meal here.

Many of the original fixtures, such as the radiators, passenger ticket counter, and wooden beams are still here, and you'll find plenty of historic photographs on the walls.

A huge mural in the dining room also pays homage to the history of this beautiful building.

During warm weather, diners also enjoy eating on the shady patio.

The food is as fabulous as the atmosphere, and you'll definitely want to stop by for dinner. Your meal starts with a loaf of fresh bread, and gets better from there!

Everything on the menu is delicious, but Porters is particularly well-known for its seared ahi...

...and its prime rib. Both are perfectly prepared and seasoned, and generally get high marks with diners.

Other tasty menu items include a variety of steaks, seafood, and chicken.

Make plans to visit Porters soon! It's open seven days a week, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m..

See the full menu at Porters' website, and tag the people you'd like to take with you for a meal there!
