If you're like me, you dream of Hawaii. I love the gorgeous beaches, the sun, the sand beneath my toes, the warm blue water, the tropical vibe, and the gracious, friendly locals. I also long for the delicious local cuisine. But, as much as I'd like to, I don't have to get on a plane to enjoy this mouth-watering food. Instead, I just head to my favorite takeout spot, 808 Grinds.
This hidden gem offers outstanding, authentic Hawaiian cuisine at a Southeast Portland food truck and two restaurants in the Portland metro area, one in Beaverton and the other in Hillsboro. These spots offer crowd-pleasing (and kid-friendly) Hawaiian comfort food at its best, from savory shredded chicken and rice to pulled pork and cole slaw. I've had just about everything on the menu, and believe me, you really can't go wrong.
This is the perfect spot for a quick, delicious meal.
Friendly service, ample portions, and high-quality ingredients are 808 Grinds staples.
This food is just as satisfying on a cold grey day as it is on a sunny one. In fact, each bite is little taste of paradise.
There is an always popular 808 Grinds food truck in Southeast Portland but you can also rent a crowd-pleasing food truck to cater your event.
From chicken to pork done a variety of ways, this menu has something for everyone.
I love the shredded garlic-ginger-soy Shoyu chicken and fried chicken bites served with rice and macaroni salad.
The ribs, Kalua pork, poke, and island coleslaw are other popular items.
The restaurants serve a more expensive menu, including favorites like garlic fries, fried eggplant, and pan-fried noodles.
Homemade sauces let you doctor your plate just how you like it. I'm especially fond of the habanero teriyaki and spicy mayo.
Check out their menu and other restaurant information on the 808 Grinds website. Best of all, your meal is a mini staycation, since every bite will transport you to the lovely Hawaiian islands,
