For a cozy 50's feel, a lot of nostalgia, and mouthwatering burgers, head to Waylan's Hamburgers the Ku-Ku on the Mother Road in Miami, Oklahoma. As the last Ku-Ku Burger left in the nation, it's quite a treat to visit this old-school establishment on Route 66. Take a look:
Waylan's is the last survivor of the old Ku-Ku chain of burger joints from the 1960s. Parked out front of this iconic dining establishment is a 1967 Ford Fairlanes, along with the signature Ku-Ku bird towering overhead on the building.
Step back in time and enjoy the nostalgic Route 66 memorabilia that adorns the walls.
Or you can pull through the drive-thru and see a replica Ku-Ku greeting you at the ordering station. The first thing you'll notice (after admiring Ku-Ku) is how affordable the menu items are priced.
Once you order, you'll see just how juicy and delicious their cooked-to-order burgers are. Make sure you order hot and crispy fries and a shake or ice-cream cone to go with your burger.
They also have an extended menu that includes tater tots, onion rings, cheese crisps, fried pickles and more.
Just promise you'll try their tasty, freshly made waffle fries that are soooo yummy.
The menu also offers a few other items that aren't burgers, like this delicious sandwich on freshly toasted bread.
Take a drive down Historic Route 66 and enjoy one of the best burger experiences in the Sooner State. They are open Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
