The Glazed Donuts From Holtman’s In Ohio Are So Good, They Practically Melt In Your Mouth
I'm a purist when it comes to donuts. I much prefer a classic glazed yeast donut over the next-level concoctions that require a knife and fork to attack, followed by a lengthy nap for the food coma that inevitably ensues. No -- for me, it's a classic glazed donut with my morning coffee; sometimes, if I'm feeling extra bold, dipped into my coffee. And my bakery of choice is always Holtman's. This family-run donut shop in Southwest Ohio has been creating crave-worthy confections since 1960, and their classic glazed donuts are so good, they practically melt in your mouth.
Holtman's Donuts come in a variety of off-the-wall flavors, from cereal-topped treats oozing with nostalgia (and sugar!) to bacon-topped delicacies that perfectly balance sweet and savory.
The flavors and varieties at Holtman's is expansive and ever-growing; if you can dream it, it probably exists -- and if it doesn't, the donut shop has been known to ask customers for inspiration on new donut flavors!
The thing is, while Holtman's does razzle-dazzle donuts with pizzaz, this Ohio bakery also nails the classic glazed donut, too.
Because in order to create the kind of epic confections for which Holtman's is acclaimed, the foundation needs to be solid. The donut, in its truest, least adorned form, must be good.
And at Holtman's, those plain, unadorned donuts, the "glazed yeast" guys you'll find behind the bakery counter? They're not just good... they're out-of-this-world great! It's a solid recipe that's been honed and mastered over the past 60+ years; a recipe baked by hand and from scratch and with love.
And, lest you think that by ordering a glazed donut means you *don't* have options, Holtman's has a robust menu of glazed-dipped donuts sure to make your heart sing. Feeling a bit fancy and French? Try the Cruller.
In the mood for a bag full of goodies? (Level up your road trip snacks!) The glazed donut holes are ridiculously delicious and (ahem) wholly addictive.
Hotlman's also makes a mean glazed vegan cake donut that tastes like yellow birthday cake: moist, light, and melt-in-your-mouth good.
Today, Holtman's has four locations across Southwest Ohio: Loveland, Williamsburg, Oakley, and West Chester. This family-run biz is a small-business stalwart that's earned the love and adoration the Buckeye State, one delicious donut at a time.

Of course, while you're in this region, you might as well throw caution to the wind and embark on the Butler County Donut Trail... it's definitely the most delicious "hike" you'll ever take! Instead of boots, you might need a big, old cooler to store your spoils.
