The Massive Prime Rib At The Angus Barn In North Carolina Belongs On Your Dining Bucket List
Craving a mouthwatering prime rib that's slow cooked and seasoned to perfection? Folks in the Triangle already know (and now you do, too) the perfect place to satisfy that craving is at The Angus Barn, one of Raleigh's oldest steakhouses.
The Angus Barn opened 60 years ago, in 1960, and specializes in house-aged beef (as well as delicious, fresh seafood).
The venue, itself, is an enormous collection of charming and rustic dining rooms, upscale and yet downplayed to perfection. It's like fine dining, but without all of the fuss. After all, the food is the star here...
And the prime rib (among other things on the menu) is a huge, meaty indulgence — so sinfully large that it nearly lops over the edge of the plate.
Seasoned and slow-cooked to just the right amount of heat, the massive 22-ounce cut is sure to satisfy any size hunger.
But if you want something smaller, The Angus Barn can accommodate with two smaller cuts at 10 ounces and 14 ounces.
Although it's slow cooked, you can still ask for your preference for temperature (rare, all the way for me!).
Few people realize one of the largest wine cellars in America is located right here in North Carolina — at The Angus Barn.
Ask you server for suggestions, or, if you already have a favorite vino in mind, you're likely to find it's available from the enormous collection offered at this restaurant.
Dining at The Angus Barn is a big deal, but it doesn't have to be reserved for only special occasions.
However, if you do have a special occasion, The Angus Barn can accommodate large groups and even has separate halls and a pavilion that are ideal for weddings.
Have you dined at The Angus Barn in previous years? How was your experience?
