These 4 Small Towns In North Carolina Have A Delicious Secret

North Carolina is home to hundreds of wineries and vineyards. The Yadkin Valley is a place of gorgeous rolling hills and a climate that rivals Tuscany. Even past the Yadkin Valley, you can find amazing vineyards and the whole state is nationally known through the 'grapevine.' But now there's a new wine producing region in the Tar Heel state. These small towns are putting themselves on the North Carolina wine map.

1. Owl's Eye, Shelby

Just outside of the historic downtown Shelby, Owl's Eye is home to award-winning European wines. The tasting room and vineyard are both chic, sleek, and beautiful. Try the Celebration Selection.

2. Baker Buffalo Creek, Lawndale

Located in Lawndale, Baker Buffalo Creek is a place full of southern charm and tradition. The land has been in the family for over 100 years...so of course while you're there, you'll feel completely at home. Take a picnic and enjoy the lush green farmland...with a bottle of wine, of course.

3. Fiddler's Vineyard, Cherryville

Just down the road from Buffalo Creek, Fiddler's Vineyard is a unique and quaint vineyard. The wines are all named after musical notes - try the scuppernong or muscadine wine.

4. WoodMill Winery, Vale

A father and son duo teamed up to create WoodMill. Their secret to super healthy wine? The muscadine grape. It's one of the healthiest grapes when it comes to wine. The open tasting room has a gorgeous back porch - perfect for lounging on summer days.

While the Yadkin Valley is a gorgeous destination for summer, it might be a little out of reach - or sometimes you just want to try something new. Have you been to any of these places?
