The Most Whimsical Restaurant In Charlotte Belongs On Your Bucket List
The eagerly anticipated South Bound restaurant opened up this month in Southend, and it has easily become one of the most whimsical restaurants in the QC.
With an awesome design scheme paired with fresh house-made, Cali-style Mexican food, this place has become an instant hotspot and we can see why!
South Bound was designed with a unique open air concept.
You'll enjoy the fresh air whether you are seated indoors or out, and the Southern California vibes will make you feel like you've been transported to a taco stand beside the Pacific.
South Bound is owned by the management team at Mac's Speedshop located right next door.
When designing the space, they wanted the restaurant to be a welcoming, summery getaway for Charlotte locals even in the colder months. This is why the restaurant features cool colors, warm lighting, a walk up taco bar, and large ceiling fans to keep the air moving and the environment breezy.
Basically, they want you to feel like you are somewhere like here…
...while still actually sitting in the QC. When you visit South Bound you'll instantly realize that it's the perfect Pacific escape you've always needed.
The restaurant has a fully stocked bar with the most premium tequilas and Mexican liquors available.
And it's a great place to grab a cocktail after work, or while you are waiting for a table.
The drink menu features many flavorful, colorful options.
The So-Cal Sangria is a house favorite and is made with casa vino, hibiscus, seasonal fruit, El Jimador Anejo and Mexican spices.
The Cantarito is the perfect compliment to a tasty side of chips and salsa.
Made with Cuervo Tradicional, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, jarritos grapefruit and citrus salt - this drink is a fruity, refreshing delight for your tastebuds.
And don't worry, if you don't drink alcohol there are still fun options.
South Bound sells a variety of sodas in a glass bottle, so you can enjoy your favorite in the coolest way.
The food menu at South Bound offers traditional, Southern California street Mexican dishes.
Chips and fresh guacamole or seasonal seafood ceviche are great picks from the appetizer menu.
The So-Cal Burrito is a fabulous option when feeling famished.
Stuffed with all the best Mexican fixins' and served with a side - it's the way to go if you're looking to fill up.
And of course there is an awesome selection of traditional street tacos on the menu.
From pork al pastor and carne asada to baja fish, each of the tacos is served on a fresh, handmade tortilla and delivered to your table warm and toasty.
At night the South Bound sign lights up…
...and the string lights create the most awesome and friendly glow.
It kind of feels like you're sitting on Laguna Beach watching the sun go down.
If you haven't been to South Bound yet, make sure to show them some love.
We promise you'll fall for the amazing atmosphere and simply delicious food.
