Coffee shops are having a moment in Buffalo, and we're not complaining! If you're craving caffeine, skip the drive-thru line and head to these eight unique local coffee shops for a jolt of java with a side of good vibes.
1. Public Espresso + Coffee (391 Washington Street)
Public Espresso is located on the main floor of Hotel Lafayette. As self-proclaimed "Coffee Nerds," they know a thing or two about brewing a mean coffee bean! Grab a beverage and a treat and belly up to the coffee bar for a totally Instagram-worthy cafe experience!
2. Tipico Coffee (128 Fargo Avenue)
When it comes to local cafes, Tipico wins in the decor department. Located on the corner of Fargo Avenue, this quaint coffee shop has decorative tile, hanging light fixtures, and a fireplace to cozy up to on cold winter days. But the decor isn't the only winning factor about Tipico. Their lattes are almost too pretty to drink (but totally worth drinking regardless).
3. Spot Coffee (765 Elmwood Avenue)
A classic Buffalo cafe, Spot Coffee is a major fixture on Elmwood Avenue. Step inside for a coffee, latte, or cappuccino, or grab a bite to eat. Whether you're dining in or taking a cup to go, Spot's always worth the trip!
4. Sweet_ness 7 (220 Grant Street)
Sweet_ness 7 is located in the heart of the city's West Side in a multi-use building that is also home to an art gallery, flower shop, boutique, church, and apartments. Celebrate the diversity of the West Side as you sip from Sweet_ness 7's extensive drink menu!
5. Undergrounds Coffee House and Roastery (580 South Park Avenue)
Undergrounds Coffee House & Roastery prides itself on bringing the dead to life with "flavorful cups of caffeine," which is fitting, seeing as their cafe is located at an old funeral home! Undergrounds serves up coffees, teas, and specialty seasonal drinks from their location in Buffalo's Old First Ward.
6. Remedy House
Out and about? Grab your coffee from Remedy House, a pop-up coffee shop making its rounds across the city! Track them down at several local events and venues for a cup of joe to go!
7. Buffalo Coffee Roastery (350 Main Street)
Tucked inside the Main Place Mall, you'll find this small cafe with a huge selection of coffee beans. The Buffalo Coffee Roastery offers a specialty drink menu with flavored coffees, lattes, and teas as well as favorite cafe food selections. Buffalo Coffee Roastery is a popular spot to duck in for a quick morning brew or to grab a liquid lunch!
8. Caffe Aroma (957 Elmwood Avenue)
Caffe Aroma is Buffalo's longest running coffee shop. Open early (6:30 AM) and late (12:00 AM), you can get your Caffe Aroma fix at any time of day. Start the morning off at the espresso bar, swing in for lunch, and come back for happy hour to enjoy draft beer, wine, and signature cocktails. It's the best of both worlds!
We'll take any excuse to drink more coffee – comment away with your favorite cafes in Buffalo!
