The Best Burgers In New Orleans Are Hiding At This Hole In The Wall Restaurant

Port of Call in New Orleans is a historic restaurant known for its award-winning burgers and steaks.

In a city filled with restaurants, you can bet you’re never too far away from a delicious burger. From Clover Grill to Fharmacy, there are countless restaurants around the city to get a decent burger, but there's one historic little hole in the wall restaurant that's known for their burgers, and you need to try one.

Nestled along the beautiful tree-lined Esplanade Avenue on the very edge of the French Quarter lies Port of Call. This historic little eatery originally opened in 1963 as a steakhouse, and quickly gained a popular following with both locals and tourists alike.

When you walk in, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported aboard a ship. Grab a seat at the bar or wait for one of the tables in the dining rooms and prepare to feast on a burger so good your taste buds might just explode.

The nautical theme continues throughout this rustic, dimly lit space. You may find that you have to wait for a table, but trust us… your patience will be rewarded.

Port of Call is world-famous for their burgers and steaks. Continuing a tradition over 50 years in the making, the steaks here are unparalleled.

Filet Mignon, New York Strip, and Rib Eyes are all featured on the menu, cut fresh daily and served with a salad and a baked potato.

But their burgers are the star of the show. These massive burgers have won numerous awards, and after one bite you’ll understand why.

Cooked to perfection and piled high with your favorite toppings, these burgers are unbeatable. If you’re a fan of mushrooms, be sure to get your burger topped with their mushrooms in wine sauce.

You won’t find any fries here. All of their burgers and steaks are served with a baked potato which you can dress how you like. Go big and load your potato with sour cream, cheddar cheese, butter, chives, and bacon bits.

Port of Call is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week from 11 a.m. until midnight Sunday through Thursday, and until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
