The chain Federal Donuts has been one of Pennsylvania's crown jewels for a long time - and Garden State residents have been left to look longingly across the river. Or, you know, catch a bus or SEPTA into Philly for a taste of those decadent donuts and crispy fried chicken.
Growing from one small location to a fast-growing chain of six across the city, Federal Donuts is the brainchild of acclaimed chef Michael Solomonov, along with his partners Steve Cook and Tom Henneman. Now, the wait for Garden State foodies is over – because the countdown begins to Federal Donuts in New Jersey. This offbeat chain is coming soon to the Marlton Square shopping center in western New Jersey, not far from the Philadelphia border. While no opening date has been announced yet, you can bet New Jersey foodies are counting the days!
Federal Donuts is a mini-chain of six shops in Philadelphia specializing in donuts and fried chicken - and it's coming to New Jersey!
The first location of Federal Donuts in New Jersey will be located in the Marlton Square shopping center, not too far from Philadelphia.
Soon, this casual dessert, chicken, and coffee shop will be serving Garden State locals – and the menu is always debuting new surprises.
The fresh-baked donuts are always a favorite, and you can expect some surprises every time you look at the selections.
You can expect experimental flavors like spiced pear, banana pancake, and even baklava to make the rotation.
The savory food is just as good, with the crispy chicken sandwich and the seasoned fries rivaling any of the bigger chains.
Solomonov's Israeli roots inspire many of the rotating specialties. This chicken sandwich boasts heirloom tomato jam, chopped pickles, and tehina sauce.
If you want the best of both worlds, the fried chicken wings and tenders come with a single mini-donut perfect for dipping.
