Good BBQ can be found in New Jersey if you know where to look, but one of the most unexpected places is right here in the Pine Barrens. If you've ever found yourself wondering what that delicious smell was heading down Route 206, it's Christine's House of Kingfish BBQ. Visit this roadside stand in Shamong for delicious ribs, smoked meats, and homestyle sides.
Christine's House of Kingfish BBQ is tucked away in the Pinelands off Route 206, and it serves some of the best BBQ in the state.
You can smell the smokers for miles away, and on any warm summer day that they're open, the parking lot is absolutely packed.
Everything here is slow smoked and made with a time-tested family recipe perfected by the Kingfish himself, Charles Bryant, and his wife, Christine.
Today, the same recipes and seasonings are used by the third generation of family pitmasters.
The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, and the sauce is so good, you'll be begging them to share the recipe.
Of course, good BBQ is only made great by perfectly flavorful sides, and Kingfish does not disappoint.
Whether you want mac and cheese, baked beans, collards, or carrots, you'll find them here. Each bite is packed with flavor and pairs perfectly with pork, beef, or chicken.
Come sit down at the picnic tables, or take your meal to-go. Christine's House of Kingfish BBQ is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
