Travel Off The Beaten Path To Try The Most Mouthwatering BBQ In New Hampshire

New Hampshire isn't generally seen as a hub for amazing BBQ – but we actually have plenty of great spots for smokey and saucy meat all over the state. Of course, you might be even less likely to guess that one of the best places for BBQ is in Brentwood. This tasty smokehouse is absolutely worth a trip off the beaten path.

Goody Cole's Smokehouse in Brentwood is an unassuming roadside spot with picnic tables outside for warmer weather, and usually a few motorcycles in the parking area.

Inside, you'll find a charming, unfussy spot with a ceiling covered by license plates from all over the country.

The owners moved up from the south to open the spot (one of them is a Texas native), so you know the grub here is authentic. They first opened a restaurant in Exeter, then moved it to Brentwood when they outgrew their space.

Their meat is made in a hickory smoker that cooks it the old-fashioned way – low and slow. The sides are also cooked in-house using traditional family recipes.

Everything is indulgent and ever so satisfying. It's pretty much impossible to leave here without stuffing yourself.

You'll be pleasantly surprised by the prices too – everything is very reasonable for the quality and portion,
