Locals Catch Up Over Chicken-Fried Steak and Ravioli at This Nevada Diner

The town of Gerlach, Nevada, is extremely small. In fact, it has a population of approximately 50 full-time residents. But, tucked away in this town is a hidden gem and one of the most delicious restaurants in the state—Bruno's Country Club. It was established in 1952 by Italian immigrant Bruno Selmi, and it's been a popular stop for locals ever since. And it's not just popular because it's one of the only places to go in Gerlach—the food is actually really, really good.

Bruno's Country Club in Gerlach is a very special place. Locals come from all around to spend time eating and drinking here, but even if you're from elsewhere, you'll feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door. This place has character, and once you visit Bruno's, you'll surely never stop thinking about returning.

The vibe at Bruno's Country Club is great, but the food is spectacular. In fact, this small-town restaurant is known for many dishes, including the country-fried steak. Do NOT skip it. Bruno's house-made ravioli is also extremely popular. You should be sure to get a plate of that, too.

Truly, though, all the food served here is excellent, and the portions are quite large. Want breakfast? Bruno's enthusiastic waitstaff will serve you a hearty plate of whatever you'd like. The burgers are fantastic. Everything is made to order, of course. The fries are crisp, and the sandwiches are all beautiful and filling. And the specials here can never be overlooked—there are truly so many options.

We recommend that you save some room for dessert, no matter what you order. The portions may be large, but I wouldn't plan on sharing. You'll want to save every bite for yourself.

Oh, and you'll want to try one of Bruno's picon cocktails. This drink is popular throughout northern Nevada, but Bruno's is known to serve the very best. And just like with the food, the drink menu is quite large. One of the hard parts about visiting this small town restaurant is making a choice. Fortunately, every choice is a good one here.

Bruno's Country Club in Gerlach is exceptional. It may be off the beaten path, but it is, without a doubt, worth the trip to get there. Not only is all the food incredible, and not only is the staff friendly and welcoming, but you'll be amazed at the prices. It's unbelievable how affordable this place is.
