The Ice Cream Place Is Officially Open, Signaling The Start Of Montana’s Summer

Growing up in Montana means understanding that some of the state's best restaurants and ice cream shops are seasonal... and they're also well worth waiting for. Seeley Lake's Ice Cream Place recently opened its doors for 2020, signaling the start of tourist season here in the Treasure State. And while summer travel will definitely look different this year, you can still count on this spot to deliver tasty burgers and irresistible soft serve.

The Ice Cream Place is located at 3196 Mt. Highway 83 in Seeley Lake, which is on the north end of the tiny lake town.

The shop opened in 1991, so it will celebrate its 30th birthday next year.

This place is small in size, but huge in popularity.

On a summer day, you'll typically notice a long line at the window and plenty of happy customers sitting at the outdoor tables.

The menu will show you that this is an ice cream shop, but it's also a top fast food joint.

They have a large burger selection as well as chicken, hot dogs, tacos, and sandwiches.

We highly recommend ordering some sides, like curly fries, onion rings, or mozzarella sticks...

...but it would be a crime not to save room for ice cream at The Ice Cream Place.

You can get it in its purest form: the soft serve cone. But there's also an enormous selection of milkshakes to choose from as well as floats, parfaits, and banana splits, and sundaes.

You can be bold and try a Seeley Sensation (soft serve blended with toppings), but it's tough to top a classic cone here... especially when it's dipped.

If you're planning on visiting Seeley Lake before fall, you may have to come here more than once for menu research purposes.

The Ice Cream Place is open for businesses, but the team is adhering to strict rules and guidelines for everyone's safety.
