The Most Delicious Bakery Is Hiding Inside This Unsuspecting Montana Alley

Cotton-Top Pastries, a small-batch bakery in Helena's historic Reeder’s Alley, offers fresh, seasonal treats and special occasion cakes.

Reeder's Alley in Helena dates all the way back to the 1870s, when it was built by a Pennsylvania brick and stonemason named Louis Reeder. These days, it's a small, unassuming space with a few small businesses and a pioneer cabin. And Reeder's Alley is also where you'll find Cotton-Top Pastries, one of Montana's most delightful treasures. If you're craving a sweet treat, look no further.

Cotton-Top Pastries is a small-batch, scratch-made bakery that made its home in Reeder's Alley over five years ago.

Despite its cozy space and out-of-the-way location, this place's popularity has skyrocketed since it opened.

The bakery is owned and operated by Holly Weist, the founder of the company.

Weist grew up in Montana, but she lived in San Francisco, France, and North Carolina while she was perfecting the art of pastry-making. She opened Cotton-Top when she returned to Montana for good.

The baked goods are made with fresh, local ingredients, which means some things are only available seasonally.

But that just means you'll have new treats to look forward to in every season.

Everything here is baked fresh early in the morning to ensure each customer gets the best quality products.

Everything is also baked in small batches, and once it's gone, it's gone. Luckily, you can always order ahead for a special occasion.

These days, Cotton-Top Pastries is best known for its mouthwatering specialty pastries, which are perfectly flaky and melt in your mouth...

...but you can also order a gorgeous special occasion cake here.

The wedding and birthday cakes are so incredible, you almost don't want to eat them (almost).

We are so lucky to have Cotton-Top Pastries in Montana, especially in such a charming historic alley.

If you live near Helena and you've never checked out Cotton-Top, you should make these pastries a priority.

Due to current circumstances, Cotton-Top Pastries is only able to offer a pre-order service... but it's worth it.

Simply use the website to pre-order your goodies, then visit the bakery on Saturday at a designated time for curbside pickup.

Cotton-Top Pastries will resume normal hours as soon as possible. For information on the next curbside pickup dates for Cotton-Top Pastries, check out their Facebook page or website.
