You’ll Want To Visit The Barn, A Remote Farm Restaurant In Mississippi

The Barn at Cedar Hill Farm in Hernando, Mississippi, offers a unique dining experience with a menu featuring local flavors in a rustic farm setting.

The options for farm-related fun are plentiful in the Magnolia State. However, did you know that you can actually dine on a farm in Mississippi? It’s true, and it’s all thanks to The Barn, a remote farm restaurant that serves up everything from fried catfish to hand-cut steaks.

Returning to its roots, Cedar Hill Farm in Hernando has recently re-opened its on-site eatery, The Barn.

Back in 2008, The Barn was a favorite of many farm visitors. However, as Cedar Hill Farm began to host more weddings, a decision was made to close the restaurant.

The wedding event business took a hard hit when the pandemic struck, so Cedar Hill Farm chose to re-open The Barn – and the general public couldn’t be happier.

Charmingly rustic, the eatery includes a large indoor dining area as well as several outdoor tables, so there’s plenty of room to spread out.

The Barn’s comfy setting is only outshined by the fare.

Serving up “great grub with local flavor,” the menu features hand-cut steaks, Mississippi farm-raised catfish, chicken, salads, and a slew of sides.

The tasty offering also includes several signature creations and specialties, like the barnyard beans.

In addition to the fixed menu, there are nightly specials, such as Burger Thursday, and weekly specials.

Dessert options include Area 51 homemade ice cream and City Hall Cheesecake – both of which are Hernando institutions.

Either before or after your meal, make sure to check out the farm’s on-site gift shop, Country Store. With everything from locally produced goods to t-shirts and toys, it’s nearly impossible to leave empty-handed.

For more information, call The Barn at (662) 429-2540. You can also visit the Cedar Hill website or The Barn Facebook page.
